Little Crown Interiors has some of my favorite baby nursery designs. Do you remember this glamorous nursery from an earlier post? Well, here is another one, with the energetic color scheme of turquoise, orange and rich brown:

*

turquoise aqua orange brown modern nursery

Color is injected into this white room through a turquoise feature wall. The accent colors are all found in the bedding of the crib, tying the room together. Personalized name art on the wall has been very popular in nurseries for some time now.

*

brown turquoise and orange DNA themed baby nursery

According to Little Crown Interiors‘ website the artwork above the change table is the DNA footprint of the parents. Absolutely a very personal touch, I love it!

*

DNA gel electrophoresis, DNA art

A lot of companies specialize in transforming your personal genome into art, this particular one is produced by British company DNA Art. What do you think, would you display your genetic code on the wall?

I discovered textile designer Anette Tatum through one of my favorite blogs Velvet & Linen. I love these three designs Anette did for her celebrity clients Marcia Cross and Minnie Driver.

grey and purple glamorous baby nursery

Have you ever seen a baby nursery like this? The theme is glamour, and it is put to life with a color scheme of grey and cold purple.

*

glamorous style nursery changing table

The most glamorous changing furniture ever.. with built in trash cans. That mirror is…

..a changing table!

*

grey and purple glamorous bedroom with draped ceiling and chandelier

I know there are a lot of controversy around putting a chandelier in a baby nursery, but it’s all good when it isn’t placed directly over the crib, right? It sure adds to the theme. And the ceiling is just amazing!

Gender Neutral Nurseries

Posted under Multicolor, Nursery/ Kids room by theLennoxx on Tuesday 25 August 2009 at 6:22 pm

Painting a nursery the ‘gender color’ has been the big trend for many years, and now we can see the trend changing towards gender neutral colors like beige, brown, green and orange.

A pink girls room for your little princess is undoubtedly cute, but a gender neutral color can be a good choice if you don’t know the gender or if you are expecting to have more kids who will inherit this room. Lets look at some great design solutions that aren’t too girly or boyish, or can easily be transformed. These photos are taken by real home owners, which I think makes it extra interesting:

*

orange and brown baby nursery

This orange and brown nursery is definitely as gender neutral as can be, and is one of the most fun color choices I have seen in a while! Neat idea: Glue wooden letters of your child’s name to a picture frame and hang it over the crib!

*

grey and white baby nursery

This grey-green and white nursery is definitely suited for a baby boy or girl. The grown up color choice is completely contrasted by the polka dots painted on the wall, making the room fun and interesting. Reminds me of snow flakes!

*

light blue and brown boys nursery

The round shapes are continues into this nursery. Altough baby blue isn’t very gender neutral, this room is too pretty to be left out. See the squares painted on the wall behind the picture frames? Lovely touch!

*

beige and pink baby girls nursery

Beige room with pink details like valances and bedspread, which are easily changed to blue if a baby boy comes along.

*

light yellow nursery

If you want a more permanent name sign than suggested above, this mural makes for great inspiration. Beige nursery with red and blue details will suit both genders.

*

striped wall brown maroon blue baby nursery

I think this is a fantastic idea! Brown and beige are gender neutral colors, as well as maroon. If it wasn’t for the name on the wall, would you be able to guess if this nursery belonged to a baby boy or girl?

Super Cute Nurseries

To decorate a nursery, you don’t necessarily need to use the Toys ‘R’ us color scheme. Baby’s do love colors, but there are ways to design a more harmonic room, without loosing color variety.

Baby Boy:

nu4

White, green, beige and blue. The paper globe lamps in various hues of blue and green are a great idea, and they contrast really well with the colorful rectangles painted on the wall. Notice the cute details on the ceiling fan!

Neutral sex:

nur2

A soft yellow and white. If you don’t know the sex of the baby, old tradition is to go with yellow. You might as well go with another sex-neutral color like beige.

Baby Girl:

Powder blue, yellow and pink. This is a great idea, using both boy and girl color together with the neutral yellow.

Bonus: Baby Boy

nu

Powder blue and white. Simple and modern with clean lines and a funky lamp.
