Spicy Bedroom
*

White bedroom with a rich brown fond wall and a super tall orange padded headboard. The headboard is framed by two equally tall mirrors.
*

By the window is a tiny seating area with a round table and two classic chairs. The brown and orange upholstery on the chairs fits in perfectly with the room.
*

Master bathroom is all done in a black matte tile. The freestanding tub is back.
*

A sneak peek of the toilet and sink. All the mirrors are built into the wall with the tiles. Very simple.

HGTV Green Home 2008
Lets go back in time and take a look at last years HGTV Green Homes (2008) sweepstakes. We have already seen this years (2009) prize home here on theLennoxx. Al though I was absolutely blown away by this years entry, the 2008 house was super cute too:
*

Red, white and beige living room. Okay, this looks real good. The sofa is lovely, as is the cushions, carpet and well.. everything else.
*

The living room, dining room and kitchen are all part of an open plan solution.
*

A beach theme dining room. The details are cute, including that ceiling lamp.
*

The green and white (chaotic?) kitchen.

Bringing the beach-theme into the choral- red and white hall.

A daybed in mimosa and white.
Tans and Whites
If you are into the simple ‘clean’ look, you might want a soft color that makes a nice but subtle contrast with white.
*

A beautiful greige wall color, contrasted by crispy white details and acessorised with a sunny orange. The simple lines are broken by the round side table lamps and geometric patterned rug.
*

A simple cream couch in an open plan living room, modernized with sparkly cushions and a cow hide rug.
*
A beautiful rustic bathroom in tans and black. Looks like the mirror frame is made out of tiles, with lamps mounted directly on it. Not a bad idea.
*

Rattan patio furniture and white porcelain.

Earthy Colors
Here are some examples of how you can use earthy tones like beige, greens and browns together to create a light, soft and modern home.
Kitchen:

Raw bricks contrasted with soft brushy green plants.
Dining room:

Super soft minty green contrasted with a smokey brown and cream. That floating shelve mounted super-high on the wall makes the room appear taller.
Living room:

Cream, greens, brown and grey. Nice balance between pattern and texture.
Bathroom:

A modern rustic bathroom in greige, beige and brown. Cute lamps.
UPDATE: See the wall color of this bathroom here!
