Blue and Orange by Kendall Wilkinson
Designer Kendall Wilkinson is the creator behind this bright joy of a bedroom:
*

The walls and trim is blue all the way from top to bottom, with a white ceiling and a warm chocolate carpet. The pops of complimentary color orange adds a lot of fun and brightness.
*

Behind the bed is a huge mural of a white tree with little orange birds.
This is also the first time I have ever seen anyone place sconces over table lamps!
*

The headboard is clear glass (or plastic?).
*

Do you like this color combo? I’ve always been a sucker for blue/orange..
*

Blue chairs with ears (LOL)!
*

And a glass table, “matching” the headboard.

Divine All-White Home
Lets take a look at Kensington House in London, designed by SHH Architects & Designers. This is an award-winning six storey building, with a color palette based on creams and off-white:
*

The living area is huge, divided into a lot of smaller spaces. My favorite feature is the ultra thin white curtains . I love the fact that they cover not only the window, but the entire wall. See how it softens everything up, eliminating any sharp borders and lines, and softening the natural light.
*

There are differently shaped sofas and recliners, with the common factor being color and soft “flowing” shapes. The round smoky glass top table is seen throughout the huge room, in both coffee- and side table versions.
*

Classic crystal chandeliers is modernized with smoky plexi glass cylinders. Nice!
*

Jaw-dropping gorgeousness.
*

The master bedroom is all-white too, with the largest white headboard I have ever seen!
*

A single spotlight in the ceiling lights up the mirrored desk. Check out the multiple chandeliers.
*

Beautiful chairs too..
*

Detailed view of the chandelier. If you look closely, it is not a whole chandelier, but individual pieces mounted in the ceiling, constituting a whole chandelier!

Light and Layered Home Design
I am absolutely enamoured with this home designed by Janie Hirsch:
*

Light blue and white living room with sisal rug. Look at all the classic furniture pieces and beautiful artwork. Janie definitely use contrasts to add depth to a room.
*

Janie is a real talent when it comes to lighting, notice how all the artworks are illuminated in a way that they stand out as individual pieces, and at the same time binds the room together. This is very well illustrated in the top pic too.
*

It is so impressing to me when a home is designed in one simple color theme, like here with light blue and white, and yet all the rooms are so different. Behind the living room you can see the kitchen and dining area. See how the different curtains separates the room into two “zones”.
*

Just gorgeous! That ceiling lamp is so pretty with the beads on the cable.
*

Divine dining room with sheer brown curtains. Notice how Janie always hangs the curtains immediately under the ceiling, emphasizing the height of the room. Also, she often opt for two chandeliers over a dining table instead of one, that way you can decorate the wall behind with a large mirror or painting, and use one tall centerpiece on the dining table. The beams on the ceiling adds a third dimention to this room, read this great article about it on Things That Inspire!!
*

Going for black cabinets in the kitchen is such a bold and creative choise!
*

The focal point of this bedroom is definitely the super tall padded headboard.
*

Stunning bathroom with more than enough lighting. I love how she mounted the sconces on the mirror! Not everyone has artwork overt the tub either.
*

HOT or NOT: Glass Bottle Lamps
When I came across this green glass bottle chandelier, I just had to ask what you think of it?! Undoubtedly the idea is fun, I guess you can DIY it, and it might give off a cozy light? For a vineyard themed home maybe? Please leave your vote!
