Nautical Design by Kelly Wearstler
This gorgeous nautical design is actually in a real yacht, believe it on not. All walls and built-in furniture is clad in glossy wood panels. The color scheme is consistent throughout, constituting crisp white, charcoal gray and a fresh and fun saffron:

Nautical Twist by Sherill Canet
Remember this post? Well, here is another excellent example of how to do the nautical style in a subtle way:
*
Cream and navy blue living room. One detail that makes a great difference in adding a nautical feel is wood paneling half or one fourth of the way up to the ceiling. Keeping the Background light and accessorizing with navy blue does the trick.
*
A perfect mix of clean color surfaces and pattern is key. Stripes and plaid are both great for the nautical theme. When mixing pattern, be sure to pick very different patterns to go together, not two different striped patterns, but rather one striped and one checkered.

White and navy blue kitchen.

This blue and white nautical kids bedroom is just perfect! Double bunk beds. Check out the bed-lights.

Nautical Designs
Lets take a look at the very popular nautical style of decoration. There are so many fun nautical accessories like porthole mirrors, sailboat lamps and wheel tables, but sometimes less is more. You don’t want your home to look like a kid’s room, and here are some examples of rooms with a subtle nautical style:
*
Hardwood floors, sisal carpets and rattan ottoman all bring in the element of wooden boat. The white and navy blue bed linen brings just the right touch of nautical. Oh, and the world map wallpaper is fantastic!!
*
Simple white bathroom with cream painted wooden walls and ceiling.
*
Same wall, hardwood floor with white and navy blue furniture and accessories.

Blue, white and rattan; the perfect nautical mix.

In keeping with the theme is the blue white striped cushion and sisal rug. Multiple candle lanterns provide a cozy atmosphere in the evening, and prohibit the flames from blowing out.
*
For a beacy vibe, decorate with seas tars and white porcelain fish!

You can get it all from Pottery Barn!
