Actress Molly Sims’ Home
I came across these pictures of actress Molly Sims’ beautiful home on Luxist, and as I saw the kitchen photo, I remembered reading about this home on Interior designer Kiahani Perera’s blog. Kishani, one of my favorite designers, is in fact a good friend of our actress, and is behind Molly’s Hollywood Hills home, so let’s take a look:
(you can click the pics to see full size on Luxist)
*
Molly has a white house with beautiful black details. I really like the larger-than-life potted trees, very simple and dramatic.
*
This is Molly’s dining room. Like the facade, the walls are white and the floors and trim is black. The blue velvet dining chairs looks super soft and comfy.
*
On the other side of the fireplace wall is a living area. Let us take a closer look:
*
Gray sofas with purple throw pillows and a glass chandelier to add a bit of glamour.
*
The kitchen is white with marble counter tops and brushed steel kitchen appliances.
*
I love how the glassware is arranged by color in the cabinet.
*
Isn’t this little girls room adorable?
*
This is definitely a room to grow up in.
*
This I presume is the master bedroom. It is seafoam green and white, with a huge bed with nailhead trim. Love the pops of color brought in by the purple lampshades. This room was later painted a deep grey, which, according to Kishani “complrtely transformed the vibe of the space from beachy to moody”.
See the result on Kishani’s blog here.
*
The bathroom is white too.
*
Here is the second living room, with a flatscreen TV.
*
Last but not least is Molly’s home office. I have posted some images of this room before on this website, and here are some more:
*

The wall seems a lot more purple in these photos.

Here is the same office, revamped for a photo shoot for Molly Sims’ jewelry line.

And here is the beautiful actress in her equally beautiful home!

*

Bright turquoise walls with beige and yellow. This surf chic living room is all about happy colors.
*

That shade of turquoise is a bit on the bright side for me, but I love how it is repeated throughout the accents. And btw I am strangely attracted to the sofa fabric.. so pretty!
*

Now this is a cute dining area! The beige, turquoise and yellow work perfectly together.
*

Purple side table with orange fishes. Almost like a built-in vignette. No worries about decorating that table top!
*

This must be the most crazy color combo yet. I feel like a cartoon character just by looking at it! I would think any weather would be gray when you walk out of this entryway.
*

This lavender blue, turquoise and green nursery is the cutest! The wave detail on the crib is my favorite part.
*

More waves in this bedroom. I see 6 fishes.
*

Orange and pink is one of my favorite color combos. Perfect for a little girls room.
*
To make it even more fun, Russell & Mackenna is offering you, my wonderful readers, 40 % off of all furniture in their online store!

These colorful rooms really reminded me of Jane Coslick’s design style, check out her site for some more inspiration!
A Twist of Lemon
Michael Partenio is the photographer behind these beautiful pictures (click images to see full size on Michael’s site):
*
Gray walls, white trim and area rugs against dark hardwood floors. Check out the mega vignette on the bookshelf, half the sea is fitted in there!
*
Everything in this room is so.. wow!
*
This ottoman coffee table is spectacular!

Looking Good
Interior Designer Eileen Kathryn Boyd’s design philosophy is simple; looking good in your own home. She even wrote a post on her blog about personalizing your home with the colors you naturally gravitate towards, which apparently are the colors that suits us best. Eileen is well known for her beautiful use of bright and bold colors in her designs, and it doesn’t end when she gets off from work. Here is Eileen looking gorgeous in the center of her creations:

Her wardrobe is definitely enviable!

LXTV takes us on a tour of Eileen’s home, where she shares some tips and tricks on how to use your wardrobe as inspiration for your home decor:

Have you ever used clothes as inspiration for decorating? I find this really interesting. Clothes have never inspired me to decorate, but decoration has definitely inspired my clothing..
Blue and Orange by Kendall Wilkinson
Designer Kendall Wilkinson is the creator behind this bright joy of a bedroom:
*

The walls and trim is blue all the way from top to bottom, with a white ceiling and a warm chocolate carpet. The pops of complimentary color orange adds a lot of fun and brightness.
*

Behind the bed is a huge mural of a white tree with little orange birds.
This is also the first time I have ever seen anyone place sconces over table lamps!
*

The headboard is clear glass (or plastic?).
*

Do you like this color combo? I’ve always been a sucker for blue/orange..
*

Blue chairs with ears (LOL)!
*

And a glass table, “matching” the headboard.
*
Coral Red
This beautiful bedroom is designed by Amanda Malson and Jolene Ballard of Domicile Interior Design.
*
Lots of Asian influence here, from the wall panels to the bamboo bench and cobalt blue foo dogs. The color scheme of coral red, crisp white and beige is very fresh and clean. I find that all the neat little details carry my eyes across the room. Rooms like that never become boring to look at.
*
The panels on the wall flanking the bed looks like framed fabric. Cute idea.
On a side note: Every time I see a foo dog, I am reminded of my cat Professor (a Persian). He was not created correctly, lol!
*
Bedroom seating area. Coral red throws add a splash of color to the beige chairs.
*
Have you noticed it is quite popular to stack pretty throw pillows under side tables like this?
*
Orange Apartment
Here is another apartment, decorated in a completely different style from the one in the last post:
*

Beige living room decorated with orange and red. Low furniture with simple lines on a large dramatic area rug. I don’t know where the coffee cups go, because there is no table. On the other hand, there is plenty of space for dancing!
*

From another angle. There is plenty of seating options here too.
*

Here is even a cozy nook for taking in the great view. Check out the red vases all along the windowsill, alternating between cacti and tea candles.
*

Talk about utilizing all space; this tiny corner is made into a home bar!
*

This must be the easiest for of Christmas decoration, loading a couple of fish bowls with disco-style ornaments!

Blue Bedroom

Fun blue bedroom with both lucite side table and table lamp. Love the yellow foo dogs.

Purple Christmas Decor
*

Take a look at this fun purple, turquoise and pink table setting. I love the idea of hanging ornaments from the ceiling like this, in fact, I have done something similar in my own home, just not over the dining table. Sewing thread and hot glue gun baby! The colorful ribbons used here are pretty too. And while on the subject of pretty, check out the wallpaper over the fireplace.

A closer look. Very pretty indeed. Anyone know who designed it?

UPDATE: Thanks to Swedish blogger Åse from Interiorguiden we now know the beautiful wallpaper can be found at Osbourne & Little!

Hello Yellow!
*

Black and white bedroom with yellow accents. The wallpaper is a bit busy.
*

Cream colored sofa in a white living room. The room is accessorized with black and yellow.
*

Would you consider a half round sofa like this? Looks cool, but it would require a room of a certain size…
*

Glossy white dining table with black chairs. I haven’t met anyone who has yellow doors!
*

Fun wallpaper.
