Gwyneth Paltrow’s Home
I think it is really fascinating to look into the homes of the rich and famous, as they have all the means to create the perfect home. This time we will take a look into actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s Long Island home. So here we go:
*

*

This is our actress in her gorgeous living room. Gwyneth obviously like her home light and classic with pops of pastels. On a side note, I adore her dress!

Here is another view of the living room. The cool blue sofas are balanced with warm pops of fuchsia.

This staircase in very simple and modern, but the wallpaper adds a warmer more “liveable” atmosphere than if it was left white.

Gwyneth has pale floors all over her home.

This dining room is the epitome of simple romantic design. The Swarovski blossom chandelier is available here for those of you who can afford it. It is $27,350.00.

This is Gwyneth’s daughter Apple’s bedroom. In keeping with the rest of the house, this bedroom is light and airy, with splashes of fuchsia for a girly princess look.

The kitchen has matte black cabinets and beige tiling.

Two white chandeliers adds a bit of glamour over the kitchen island, and makes a great contrast to the black cabinets.

Bewitching Colors
David Kaplan is the designer behind this beautiful home of blues and pinks:
*

This beautiful light blue living room is decorated very subtly paying close attention to pattern, texture and dimension.
*

I think this color palette is absolutely fantastic. The colors really play off of each other. Bright, but toned down.
*

Take a look at the different chairs on this room. Very sculptural.
*

David mixes a lot of metals and metal colors in this room. Just look at the coffee table with the gold picture frames. I really like how he painted the whole mantel the same color as the walls, and used a slightly deeper tone on the molding.
*

The dining area is the same wall color, it might possibly be an open plan solution with the living room. Even the window frames are blue. The black dining table is very visually heavy (and probably physically heavy too), but perfectly balanced out by very light feminine chairs and beautiful flowers and chandelier.
*

In open plan solutions I often notice wall paneling is used to define the living room, like in this one.
*

Beautiful dresser.
*

An accent wall in a stairway. Great idea to add some color and depth!

Gray by Mimi Williams
Today we’ll look at some of the work of Interior Designer Mimi Williams. I am not sure if this is a private home or not, because it looks amazingly large, with two living room seating areas and two dining areas. What I do know is that it looks absolutely fantastic!
*

The whole of the home is decorated in a subtle gray. Three tiny glass tables instead of one large. Fun idea!
*

The second seating area. Have you noticed the trend of using dark tables to light colored seating?
*

This dining room has two identical seating areas symmetrically arranged around a cozy fireplace. The second dining room is to the right in this image.
*

And here it is. Notice the fantastic eagle claws and glass ball table foots. I love how Mimi used only a few large accent pieces in this dining room. Very dramatic.
*

Beautiful lines on this staircase, underlined by the choice of black and white on the railing.
*

Take a look at that headboard. Very sculptural, like the back on the adjacent chair.
*

Mediterranean Dream Home
Lets sneak a peek into a gorgeous mediterranean home:
*

Dramatic foyer with pilars and a seating area. The walls are a creamy shade of beige throughout the house, with dark stained wood furniture and tall indoor palms.
*

Here is another view of this lovely seating area. Rich brown carpet with crisp white sofa. Looks very fresh and clean.
*

I’m already in love with the fabric on these dining chairs.
*

The cozy living room. Love the diamond pattern on the sisal carpet. Looks like one window is turned into a mini library!
*

Sisal carpet on the patio seating area too. More hot fabric patterns and colors, but where is the “coffee” table? lol!
*

Rustic kitchen with raw bricks and heavy wood counters. I have noticed that despite the style of kitchen, there are always the stainless steel appliances.
*

The tub is built into a corner, with a pilar on each side. Now that’s fancy!
*

Lovely details. That carved lamp is so pretty..
*

Back to where we started, the foryer. This staircase is spectacular!

This kitchen has the perfect balance between simple surfaces and gorgeous details! Black walls with white trim and cabinets.
*

Cafe latte walls with white trim and rich brown furniture in this super cozy living room.
*

This stairway is just fantastic! Love the dark wood steps and white railing, not to mention the chandelier.
*

Rich brown bedroom with white trim makes a super cozy atmosphere.
*

Old pink and white girls bedroom. I love a kid’s room which doesn’t need a total renovation every couple of years.
*

Beautiful brown bathroom with built-in tub.

White Country Romance
*

Gorgeous all-white romantic country style dining room, with little hints of pink. I think the classic chairs painted white and upholstered in lace fabric are just gorgeous. The double chandelier setup is quite dramatic.
*

Cream and white living room with classic seating furniture and multiple round tables. I think all the fresh flowers really add to this romantic decorating style.
*

Decorate your stairway with old mirror frames pained white; all shapes and sizes.

Open Plan Solution
Lets take a tour!
*
Huge open plan solution with open entry, living room, dining room and kitchen. The fact that this whole level has the same color theme of light blue and a cold yellow (yellow with white).
*
The living room is decorated in yellow, green, cream and maroon.
*
This über long drawer unit doubles as shelf, storage and seating area. And look, a fireplace too!
*
Wow, fun choice of chairs, each in a different color to match the rest of the home.
*
I think the blue and yellow color theme works best of all in this kitchen.
*
Yellow floating shelves instead of kitchen cabinets. Looks fancy, but what about the dust job??
*
Cool triple lamps. And, check out that creative frying pan-storage!
*
Nice railing on that staircase. Very artistic.
*
This minimalistic bedroom has a great view. A mini fireplace and a mega plant!
*
Yellow and blue bathroom. Shiny tiles..

More Gorgeous Greys!
Remember this post on the gorgeous design by Sarah Richardson? Well, now it’s time for more!
*

This is the laundry room of laundry rooms! Grey, silver and brushed steel theme, with frosted glass cabinet doors and glass jars for soap powder.
*

Now this is a posh stairway! Grey and white, with a gorgeous classic bench.
*

Grey dining room with shiny pearl wallpaper and a lucite chandelier. By replacing the inner row of chairs with a bench seat you get the restaurant look, lol.
*

Cozy built-in home office. White and gray. So many lovely details!
*

Another entry, grey “accessorized” with yellow rain boots, lol.

Black, White and in Between
Pretty light rooms designed by Brad Ford:
*
White kitchen with raw black counter tops. I like the ceiling lamp triplet.
*
Modern light bedroom. I think that picture on the side tables is beautiful, do you like it?
*
Grey and cream white stairways. I’m intrigued by this wallpaper! The pattern seems so irregular..
*
Nice hall.
*
A nice seating area in the hall.
*
If you take a closer look, the theme in the hallway/stairs is … bugs. I’m fascinated!
