Lovely reader Hilary so kindly requested a Moroccan theme post as inspiration for her bedroom makeover. Ask and you shall receive! My first thought off cause went to these dreamy interiors by Jeffers Design Group:

*

moroccan style hallway vignette coral red saffron

This tiny seating area is a feast for the eye with it’s great shapes, proportion and color. Hypnotizing!

*

cream and pink moroccan stairway

The seating area is situated in a hallway in front of this staircase. I know the Moroccan style incorporates a lot of geometrical patterns and beautiful tiles, but I haven’t seen it combined into a beautiful hardwood floor like this before. And what do you think about the carpeting on the stairs? Looks like someone went up before and left a trail of rose petal for you to follow. Very inviting =)

*

peach moroccan style living room

This coral pink living room is topped off with a yellow ceiling and beige furniture. The furniture is pretty low set and simple in design, serving as the perfect backdrop for layering of pillows and fabrics of bright colors and beautiful pattern.

*

peachy pink living room

Those built in shelves!!

*

coral pink vignette

A simple but dramatic vignette with a mirror, two symmetrically arranged sculptures and a tray with silver tea service. The high gloss cabinet even has a tassel handle!

*

moroccan style bedroom

First thing you notice when walking through the door of this bedroom, apart from the fantastic door itself, has to be that ceiling.

*

moroccan themed style bedroom beige and coral pink

Golden beige bedroom with every possible shade and hue of coral. Spicy hot colors!

*

exotic bedroom

View from the bed. There are so much detail here, even the lamp shades have beaded fringes.

*

moroccan themed dressing room

I just could not leave this dressing room out.

*

When I think about Moroccan style interiors I think tassels, trays, big soft throw pillows and layering of hot fabrics. Oh yeah, the lanterns and incense too off cause!

Bright turquoise walls with beige and yellow. This surf chic living room is all about happy colors.

*

That shade of turquoise is a bit on the bright side for me, but I love how it is repeated throughout the accents. And btw I am strangely attracted to the sofa fabric.. so pretty!

*

7

Now this is a cute dining area! The beige, turquoise and yellow work perfectly together.

*

17

Purple side table with orange fishes.  Almost like a built-in vignette. No worries about decorating that table top!

*

46

This must be the most crazy color combo yet. I feel like a cartoon character just by looking at it! I would think any weather would be gray when you walk out of this entryway.

*

10

This lavender blue, turquoise and green nursery is the cutest! The wave detail on the crib is my favorite part.

*

52

More waves in this bedroom. I see 6 fishes.

*

Orange and pink is one of my favorite color combos. Perfect for a little girls room.

Today’s divine designs are created by California based brother- and design duo Ryan and Joshua Brown of Brown Design Inc:

*

beige classic style living room

The walls, carpet and curtains are all the same perfect shade of creamy beige, setting a perfect backdrop for the dark coffee table. I could move in here in the blink of an eye, and would not change a thing. Perfect!

*

beige classic style living room with brown upholstered couch and white orchids

Camel colored couch, decorated with throw pillows one shade lighter than the walls, one shade darker than the couch, and every shade and texture in between.

*

beige classic style bedroom with wallpaper

White bedroom with a beige wallpapered feature wall. That is my favorite hardwood floor stain (at the moment), so rich and warm.

*

beige classic bedroom detail

Beautiful flowing lines in that blue and cream area rug.

*

white modern bench seating

Have you ever seen a bench seat like this before? Spectacular lines!

*

classic beige bathroom with freestanding bathtub, chandelier and zebra bench

Now this is a bathroom! I adore the dark window frames against the soft beige walls, and the tiles are just fabulous. Perfect balance between classic and modern elements.

*

If you enjoyed these images, make sure to view them on the flash site of Brown Design Inc. as they look so much better in full scale!

I absolutely adore Kishani Perera’s use of color, I can’t think of anyone who uses color the same way as this girl. Take a look:

*

coral red and white modern to bed guest bedroom

Coral red and antique-white two bed guest bedroom. The headboards are HOT! The bright color and bold fabric gives this room a 70’s vibe, but still it is so “now”!

*

gray and purple dramatic glamorous dining room with huge chandelier

This spectacular living room is painted a glossy gray all over. Even the huge bookshelf, which is placed directly behind the sofa, by the way. Hints of purple adds a regal touch, all topped of with a huge crystal chandelier.

*

aubergine purple and white modern bedroom

Two shades of purple in this super modern bedroom. The crisp white details really pop!

*

soft light pink and white divine dining room

Divine pink dining room. Nothing softens a room like light translucent curtains.. And what about the carpet? It’s pretty fabulous, right?

*

orange coral red and white modern hall

Orange hallway with crisp white furniture and accents. The lamp is designed by Jonathan Adler:

*

white giraffe table lamp

*

How about you? Are you bold enough to take on bright colors like these? Do you think you would grow bored of a bright color quicker than of a neutral color?

Lets sneak a peek into a gorgeous mediterranean home:

*

mediterranean home foryer

Dramatic foyer with pilars and a seating area. The walls are a creamy shade of beige throughout the house, with dark stained wood furniture and tall indoor palms.

*

mediterranean home seating area

Here is another view of this lovely seating area. Rich brown carpet with crisp white sofa. Looks very fresh and clean.

*

mediterranean home dining room

I’m already in love with the fabric on these dining chairs.

*

mediterranean home living room

The cozy living room. Love the diamond pattern on the sisal carpet. Looks like one window is turned into a mini library!

*

mediterranean home patio furniture

Sisal carpet on the patio seating area too. More hot fabric patterns and colors, but where is the “coffee” table? lol!

*

mediterranean home kitchen

Rustic kitchen with raw bricks and heavy wood counters. I have noticed that despite the style of kitchen, there are always the stainless steel appliances.

*

mediterranean home bathroom

The tub is built into a corner, with a pilar on each side. Now that’s fancy!

*

mediterranean home detail

Lovely details. That carved lamp is so pretty..

*

mediterranean home staircase

Back to where we started, the foryer. This staircase is spectacular!

Interior Designer Sara Story shows you a new way to set color to your home. Leave the walls white while you paint the ceiling and floor!

*

modern kitchen white and gray with purple ceiling

A long narrow room like this kitchen is perfect for some ceiling color. But the deep purple ceiling aside, check out the gorgeous painted pattern on the hardwood floors!

*

This long and narrow hallway has a yellow painted ceiling. Check out the dot pattern outlining the gray walls!

*

gold white green hallway asian style

This hallway is so pretty! The walls are gold with crisp white detailing and forest-green accents. Even the dark stained hardwood floors are gorgeous. I am always drawn to symmetry, and Olga Adler, the designer of these rooms, uses it to its fullest extent! You can get that mirror from Pottery Barn by the way.

*

gold white and green room asian style

I’m guessing the color choice of this room was inspired by that lovely painting? You can peek into the dining room from here.

*

asian style dining room

Pineapple chandelier! Lovely wood furniture and accents in this dining room.

*

asian style living room

Is it the new trend to make your guests walk three steps to put down their coffee cup? lol! (Remember how Robert Coututier solved this?)

*

asian style living room with chinese lattice wall accent

The Chinese lattice wall art and mirror frames are really hot right now (and have been for a while)!

*

asian style china cabinet

Gorgeous symmetry around this china cabinet.

*

modern natural bathroom

A fitted bathroom unit. My favorite ting in this bathroom is…

*

modern bathroom with leaf wall sconces

That gorgeous leaf-shaped wall scone!

*

tropical home design

Tropical living room. I get an ancient Egyptian vibe from this wallpaper, the way those palm (?) leafs are laid out.

*

tropical style living room with palm leaf wallpaper

Who wouldn’t love to have a suspended hammock-divan in their living room? Robert placed one sofa on each side of the room, a huge coffee table in the middle, and a small wooden coffee table in front of each sofa.

*

tropical style dining room

The dining room walls are decorated with red and gold fabrics. Check out that dining table! I think it has little wheels too.

*

tropical style hall entryway foyer

The foyer has a gorgeous bamboo wallpaper and a Chinese cabinet. I love how all the rooms are decorated with huge green leafs!

This home is part of the Nations Next Top Model Home competition, where 7 designers each were given $5,000 and 28 days to transform a home. You can read more about the challenge here. You can also cast your vote on your favorite design! Let’s take a look at one of the entries, this one is by interior designer Jill Shevlin:

*

coastal beachy home hall and dining room

Love how the colors of both living room and dining room are picked up in the stripes in the hallway. Horizontal stripes also makes the hall look longer, and has a calming effect.

*

foggy blue and white coastal beachy living room

A smokey tone of blue (blue with black in it) is a perfect choice if you want to create a contrast with white.

*

blue and white coastal beachy living room

The walls are blue, detailing and seating furniture is white, while coffee- and side tables are dark. I love the little dog bed in the lowest shelf there. Cutest detail!

*

blue living room white fire place coastal beachy living room

The mantle is decorated with sea stars and silver vases. This carpet is perfect!

*

blue and white coastal beachy living room shelves

Another view.

*

beachy coastal dining room beige and white with dark furniture

The dining room is clad in natural fiber wallpaper with white 1/3 paneling. I would love to see a nice carpet here.

Here is a great idea for sprucing up your home without using too much time and money; instead of painting your whole wall, draw up a square and fill it in with your favourite color:

*

white hall with green mural

Olive green mural in the hall.

*

blue and pink mural ideas for living room

If you can’t decide on a color, why not use two? One pink and one blue mural in this living room.

*

colorful dining room pink mural

Colorful dining room with a pink mural.

*

bedroom with yellow mural

And last but not least, the bedroom.
