Finally!
Before creating this website, I had a tiny file on my computer with my favorite interior pictures. That tiny file has grown into 500 files with 7000 images by the way. But I digress. Well, one of the pictures in that tiny file of mine was a smaller version of the pic below. Ever since then I have been in love with the print hanging over the sofa, but haven’t been able to find out anything about it. Yesterday as I was looking through the portfolio of Kwinter & Co Design, it turned up again, and now I am asking you if you happen to know anything about it?
*

And here it is.
*

Now let’s take a look at the rest of this gorgeous room. The living room is actually white with rich gray carpeting and a beige cowhide flower rug (available here). The wall behind the gray velour sofa is completely covered in mirrors. Nice glass coffee table too.
*

Side view. Black lamp shades are pretty and creates a good mood, but is not for lighting up, that’s for sure. But who cares when you have windows like that in the living room?
*

A folding screen is mounted on the wall as artwork behind a white cabinet.
*

Here is a closer look at the deep brown armchairs. Beautiful carvings and nailhead trim.

A Twist of Lemon
Michael Partenio is the photographer behind these beautiful pictures (click images to see full size on Michael’s site):

Gray walls, white trim and area rugs against dark hardwood floors. Check out the mega vignette on the bookshelf, half the sea is fitted in there!

Everything in this room is so.. wow!
*
This ottoman coffee table is spectacular!

Contemporary Glam
Jeneration Interiors is behind this fabulous home of contemporary bliss. We have seen a lot of bright colors in contemporary design lately, so this more muted palette is a nice change around here.
*

So many lovely details, where do we start? Well, how about the gorgeous wall color? It looks like Benjamin Moore’s Kendall Charcoal. The furnishings and accents are really dramatic, with pops of “muddy” colors and glass ornaments for a touch of glam. Lets take a closer look at this living room:
*

Everything in this room is fabulous, from the glass orbit chandelier to the black and white geometric area rug to the black and brass bamboo beach style chair.
*

The black and gold credenza is the perfect base for a simple but dramatic vignette. It is all about proportion here, just look at the fantastic wing chair and the coffee table. The horn end table is available at Z Gallerie.
*

A black chandelier lights up this reflective chrome dining table. One row of deep red dining chairs is exchanged for a white-and-brass bench seat.
*

Here’s more of the cool vases like the ones on the coffee table.
*

Can’t omit this beautiful vignette. Is it just me or is this huge? Look at the winged chair and the brass chair in comparison.. They both look tiny! Another great example of dramatic proportion.
(Learn how to create a perfect vignette here!)
*

The black details are exchanged for brown to keep a softer look for this bedroom. Again, Jennifer of Jeneration Interiors plays with proportion.
*

This cozy nook for dining includes bench seating and white marble table top. The art deco chandelier is really making it’s way back in the world of contemporary design.

Teen Boy Bedroom
When I look at this bedroom I can’t help thinking this is the perfect style for a teenage boy’s bedroom:
*
The gray flannel patterned wallpaper is perfectly masculine, especially combined with the denim bedding and black leather upholstered bed.

This wallpaper is called Straight and can be purchased from Graham & Brown (click picture to go to their site).

Gray by Mimi Williams
Today we’ll look at some of the work of Interior Designer Mimi Williams. I am not sure if this is a private home or not, because it looks amazingly large, with two living room seating areas and two dining areas. What I do know is that it looks absolutely fantastic!
*

The whole of the home is decorated in a subtle gray. Three tiny glass tables instead of one large. Fun idea!
*

The second seating area. Have you noticed the trend of using dark tables to light colored seating?
*

This dining room has two identical seating areas symmetrically arranged around a cozy fireplace. The second dining room is to the right in this image.
*

And here it is. Notice the fantastic eagle claws and glass ball table foots. I love how Mimi used only a few large accent pieces in this dining room. Very dramatic.
*

Beautiful lines on this staircase, underlined by the choice of black and white on the railing.
*

Take a look at that headboard. Very sculptural, like the back on the adjacent chair.

Beautiful Bedroom by Vicente Wolf
Vicente Wolf is one of my favorite designers, and if you take a look at these photos, or his portfolio for that sake, you know why.
*

This bedroom is painted a very cool and light shade of blue and has a feature wall of gray padded squares. The tall classic furniture is combined with sisal carpeting, adding a rougher texture and a beautiful contrast to the delicate gray fabrics used. Another very notisable contrast in this room is the Victorian headboard combined with the steel framed four poster bed.
*
This is the seating area in the foreground in the first picture. Simple and elegant. The frosted glass panels you see behind the sofa is actually a door into the bathroom.
*
Here are the glass doors viewed from the bathroom. I remember seeing a video from Mr. Wolf’s home, and he had removed one of the bathroom walls and replaced it with frosted glass to add natural light from the flanking room (I think it was the living room). I will post the video if I find it.
*
Did you ever see classic beauty and modern combined as effortlessly as this?
*
If you just can’t get enough of this, visit Vicente’s own blog, it is a fantastic read!
Modern Grays
*

A lovely gray living room. The large clean surfaces are broken up with subtle patterns and textures on fabrics, adding depth and interest to the room. The focal point of this room is obviously the fantastic painting over the sofa:
*

I love these painting, but I can’t for the life of me remember who the artist is. Do you?
UPDATE: It hit me like a rock; painting is by James Nares!!
*

This is a second seating area. Those sofas are the hotness!
*

Gorgeous greige bedroom with a simple seating area for relaxing with a good book.

Blue and Pink Bedroom
These pictures has been laying around on my computer for a while now, and I think they are too cute not to share:
*

White upholstered bed with pink accent pillows. I think the two mirrors on either side of the bed is perfect for this look! Classic romantic and sleek modern all in one!
*

White nightstands with white table lamp.
*

Between two tall slim windows is a white console table in front of a huge framed picture. Do you think the room is built around this picture, or did the owner get really lucky finding this picture?
*

A perfect shade of smoky blue color on the walls.
*

Pearl Gray and Blue Bedroom
*

Serene master bedroom with pearl gray walls and sky blue ceiling.
*

The carpet is divine!
*

This bed looks pretty wide, it even has three rows of pillows. The turquoise padded headboard is nice, I wonder if that is doable for the non-professional upholsterer?
*

The antique looking desk is blue with gold details. So pretty.
*

The pearl gray velvet divan fits in perfectly with its light blue frame.
*

The bedroom is completed with a silver framed bar cart.

Looking For Romance?
Look no further! Take a look at this gorgeous furniture from Harvest Moon Furniture Company:
*

Beautiful dining area with a round dining table. I love round tables, because everyone faces each other. Very social. The look is topped off with pink and red roses by the dozen!
*

Let us all take note on this one: If you don’t have enough room at the walls to place your desk, why not set it up in the middle of the room? A folding wall works well to “settle” the furniture, ideally with an area rug too. Hey, it pays to be creative!
*

The perfect shade of gray really makes the white pop! Twin bathroom console. And how cute is that towel rack?
*

Another dining table. The shape of the table top is amazing. If you want to add some “garden chic”, exchange cutoff roses for Hyacinths in planters.
