For Coastal Cottage Color Lovers!
Have you heard of Russell & Mackenna? Well it is a company specializing in beach cottage style furniture. Unlike most furniture companies, you get to design the furniture to fit perfectly into your home! You can choose between 33 vibrant colors and add the trim and knobs you want. For upholstered furniture there are 53 beautiful fabrics to choose from. Needless to say, this is fun! Lets check out some of their colorful furniture:
*

Bright turquoise walls with beige and yellow. This surf chic living room is all about happy colors.
*

That shade of turquoise is a bit on the bright side for me, but I love how it is repeated throughout the accents. And btw I am strangely attracted to the sofa fabric.. so pretty!
*

Now this is a cute dining area! The beige, turquoise and yellow work perfectly together.
*

Purple side table with orange fishes. Almost like a built-in vignette. No worries about decorating that table top!
*

This must be the most crazy color combo yet. I feel like a cartoon character just by looking at it! I would think any weather would be gray when you walk out of this entryway.
*

This lavender blue, turquoise and green nursery is the cutest! The wave detail on the crib is my favorite part.
*

More waves in this bedroom. I see 6 fishes.
*

Orange and pink is one of my favorite color combos. Perfect for a little girls room.
*
To make it even more fun, Russell & Mackenna is offering you, my wonderful readers, 40 % off of all furniture in their online store!

These colorful rooms really reminded me of Jane Coslick’s design style, check out her site for some more inspiration!
A Pop of Color
Beth Haley is the interior designer behind this home of a million awkward angles. The way Beth dresses these rooms, you barely notice though, because she uses a neutral beige background with lots of color pops.
*

Attention is drawn straight to the bed courtesy of the deep purple accent wall and the very structural headboard.
*

This colorful vignette is certainly an eye catcher.
*

I love how Beth chose a funky zebra pattern framed mirror in this demure bathroom. What a lovely contrast!
*

The pointed ceiling in this boys bedroom is taken advantage of and dressed in a camouflage fabric for a cozy tent look.
*
Contemporary Glam
Jeneration Interiors is behind this fabulous home of contemporary bliss. We have seen a lot of bright colors in contemporary design lately, so this more muted palette is a nice change around here.
*

So many lovely details, where do we start? Well, how about the gorgeous wall color? It looks like Benjamin Moore’s Kendall Charcoal. The furnishings and accents are really dramatic, with pops of “muddy” colors and glass ornaments for a touch of glam. Lets take a closer look at this living room:
*

Everything in this room is fabulous, from the glass orbit chandelier to the black and white geometric area rug to the black and brass bamboo beach style chair.
*

The black and gold credenza is the perfect base for a simple but dramatic vignette. It is all about proportion here, just look at the fantastic wing chair and the coffee table. The horn end table is available at Z Gallerie.
*

A black chandelier lights up this reflective chrome dining table. One row of deep red dining chairs is exchanged for a white-and-brass bench seat.
*

Here’s more of the cool vases like the ones on the coffee table.
*

Can’t omit this beautiful vignette. Is it just me or is this huge? Look at the winged chair and the brass chair in comparison.. They both look tiny! Another great example of dramatic proportion.
(Learn how to create a perfect vignette here!)
*

The black details are exchanged for brown to keep a softer look for this bedroom. Again, Jennifer of Jeneration Interiors plays with proportion.
*

This cozy nook for dining includes bench seating and white marble table top. The art deco chandelier is really making it’s way back in the world of contemporary design.

Breathtaking Bedroom Transformation!
I love this bedroom makeover. Editor of Decorating Magazine Lacey Howard transforms a plain white bedroom into a warm and welcoming delight of taupe, corals and pinks:
*
The Bed:

Before the makeover starts, this bedroom is pretty much a clean canvas of white. The white ribbon on the bedsheets..
*

… is exchanged for a coral one. New bedside table and white plates as wall decor. A small vignette is created on the bedside table with a framed pink painting and a bouquet of flowers. This transformation is awesome! Rich warm colors.
*
The Closet:

The folding doors of the closet are removed.
*

And replaced with curtains for a softer and more open feel. The curtain rod is wider than the actual closet to make the closet look bigger. Now there is not just a wall with a closet, the whole wall is the closet. Love the warmer shade in the closet.
*
The Dresser/Desk:

This is the dresser you saw in the closet, and it has been replaced by..
*

The former pink nightstand. A glass side table turns this nook into a tiny home office slash vanity. To really make this alcove feel like a space of its own, the walls are covered in beautiful beige butterfly wallpaper.
*
The Seating Area:

The seating area was clean, simple and pretty before..
*

.. but absolutely stunning after! The coral pink curtains placed wider than the actual window frame makes the window look a lot bigger, and frames the sofa perfectly. The floor lamp (which was moved to the bed) is replaced with a white shell chandelier, and white ottoman tables and recliner each received new slipcovers.
This is definitely how you do pink room without it looking like a little girls room.

Romantic Beige
*
Nice romantic living room. I love this very neutral shade of beige, it is a perfect warm background color when you want to add a few color pops. Love the fireplace in the fireplace solution too.
*
Beautiful beige daybed. Anyone know who designed it?
*
A bedroom with a lot of inspiring words to start the day on a good note.
*
Double sinks placed in front of a window, what a great use of space! You would probably need a vanity table for doing hair and makeup, with a great opertunety to check the result in natural daylight before you leave the house =)
*
Now this is a great looking home office!

Classic Cream
Today’s divine designs are created by California based brother- and design duo Ryan and Joshua Brown of Brown Design Inc:
*

The walls, carpet and curtains are all the same perfect shade of creamy beige, setting a perfect backdrop for the dark coffee table. I could move in here in the blink of an eye, and would not change a thing. Perfect!
*

Camel colored couch, decorated with throw pillows one shade lighter than the walls, one shade darker than the couch, and every shade and texture in between.
*

White bedroom with a beige wallpapered feature wall. That is my favorite hardwood floor stain (at the moment), so rich and warm.
*

Beautiful flowing lines in that blue and cream area rug.
*

Have you ever seen a bench seat like this before? Spectacular lines!
*

Now this is a bathroom! I adore the dark window frames against the soft beige walls, and the tiles are just fabulous. Perfect balance between classic and modern elements.
*

Beige and Green Living
*

Beautiful beige and green living room. This is so “liveable”!
*

The Christmas tree is decorated with blue ornaments and butterflies. Since that color is not part of the room palette, the tree really stands out. Beautiful!
*

A simple Holiday decoration of green moss and silver ornaments in a wooden bowl. Could not be more simple.
*

Nice home bar furniture with floating shelves over, maximizing storage (and decoration) possibilities.
*

I love the Holiday decoration here, bells on the drawer pulls, white tea candles and green garlands and wreaths with lights.

Exotic Bedroom
Jeffers Design Group has one of those portfolios that are overwhelming with never ending beauty and inspiration. This exotic bedroom caught my attention immediately:
*

Beige walls, dark hardwood floors and a soft blue ceiling. It is definitely the soft wavy lines and shapes that lifts this room from gorgeous to spectacular.
*

Just take a look at that headboard! The soft lines are repeated everywhere from the beautiful wallpaper to the bed skirt and all fabrics in the room.
*

Here is a closer look at the wonderful wallpaper. The designer hit two birds with one stone (no pun intended) by placing a desk besides the bed, doubling as a bedside table. The table lamps flanking the bed looks fantastic! Love the cobalt blue mirror too.
*

Beautiful textiles, and the chair is so cute.
*
Vintage Cottage Bedroom
*
Fun idea: use a mantle as a frame for your headboard! We already saw how to use a mantle to camouflage the TV when not watching.
*
The padded headboard is simply placed inside the mantle (or is it the other way around?)
*
Cute bedroom. Very girly.
*

Bedroom Love
When I first saw this bedroom, I instantly fell in love with it:
*

*
It is the lure of the cobalt blue curtains. So fresh and unexpected! Love the baby blue bed too..
